Want perfect brows everyday? Try Microblading!

Beauty Treatments
Last week, I had the pleasure of interviewing Nikki about her recent entrepreneurial journey.  Her story of implementing daily actions to fuel her business truly inspired me.  I was really curious about her knowledge of creating perfect brows.  We all can agree on how much of an impact sculpted brows can have on the face.  Figuring out the right shape for our brows can be tricky. And replicating the same perfect brows day after day can be a hit or miss.  That's why I invited Nikki to share a guest post on  the wonders of Microbladding.  It's a term that I've heard before but didn't fully understand.  If you're curious to know more about this eyebrow trend, keep reading...

It’s no secret that EYEBROWS have become the new “thing”. Since Kim Kardashian hit the scene with those gorgeous, full, perfectly sculpted brows everyone has been obsessed with having their “eyebrows on FLEEK”. You can’t scroll through your Instagram feed without seeing a brow video, brow hashtags, and the YouTube video tutorials demonstrating how to achieve perfectly sculpted brows look are countless.

However you may like your brows, highly arched and feathered or straight and bold, eyebrows are arguably your most important facial feature and can make or break your look. Brows play a huge role in shaping the face, giving you a more polished look. The difference can be life changing.
If you're not satisfied with your current brow situation, there are so countless ways to update them, including brow powders, brow gel, pencils, pomades and even tattooing. The problem is drawing/filling in your brows daily can take a lot of time, and let’s face it…some people just aren’t very good when it comes to drawing on their brows no matter how many YouTube tutorials they watch.  Even if you are a master at drawing your brows it is very easy to get fed up with filling them in with a pencil, brow gel, etc. daily.

And what about when we go swimming? No one wants to get out of the pool with your brows smudged or completely off. You don’t want to accidentally wipe your face and your brows come off with the wipe. That’s the worst. And let’s not forget summer where your makeup can sometimes melt right off your face. I’m sure I’m no different than all the other women in the world wanting to look natural and put together even when I wake up, at the beach or the pool, or when I’m exercising. And that’s the beauty of microblading and why everyone is obsessing over it!

Ladies, & gentlemen I’d like to introduce you to microblading. Microblading is an awesome semi-permeant, extremely natural solution that delivers the most natural results. Unlike the sometimes Sharpie looking effects of permanent brow tattoos, microblading is more of an embroidery with strokes that look just like real hairs.

What is Microblading, and Why do I need it?
Would you like perfect eyebrows with little or no maintenance that lasts more than a year? Microblading is perfect for those who would like to fully reconstruct, define, cover gaps, and fill-in over plucked brows.
@lukx_brows before and after
Microblading, also sometimes referred to as 3D Hair Strokes, is a new method of eyebrow tattoo that mimics the look of real hair and lasts over a year! That means no drawing or filling in
for OVER 1 YEAR! Doesn’t that make life a little sweeter?

Here’s a list of what Microblading can help with:
* Fill in sparse areas or "bald patches" in your brows
* Make brows look fuller and thicker
* Darken blonde or light brows
* Correction of old eyebrow tattoo
* Correct uneven brow shape to make them more symmetrical or
* Create a whole new brow if you have little or no hair
* Great for alopecia or trichotillomania sufferers!

Also, if your brows could use a little “lift” microblading can solve this too! Some clients naturally have brows that are turned down at the ends giving them an undesirable look. Reshaping the brows and Lifting the arch and tail can create a world of difference in your appearance. It opens the eye area making the eyes look bigger/brighter and makes clients look younger & happier!

The Process
First, I consult with the client about their wishes and evaluate the condition of their eyebrows. Then some initial drawings are made and corrected until the client is fully satisfied with the results. Pictures of the eyebrows are taken to check symmetry.  Next, I match the color of the pigment with your hair color and skin tone. The entire process takes about 2 hours.

During the microblading process a special microblading needle is used to draw on individual strokes one by one. It's an extremely meticulous process in which I pay much attention to detail.
Before the microblading begins, a topical numbing cream is applied to the area to minimize discomfort, followed by a liquid anesthetic. Some clients may feel a slight discomfort, but it's relatively painless. Some relate it to having their brows threaded.
The best part about the technique is that there is no downtime. Your new set of brows will be ready for a selfie immediately after the process. However, it is recommended to have a follow-up one month after your appointment. The healing process is different for everyone, and it takes about 30 days.

After a month, you would need to come in for a 45-minute to an hour touch-up. Once you have microblading completed it is SUPER low maintenance. Once healed, you can rub your brows, go swimming, exercise, etc.  There's nothing to worry about.  Easy like Sunday Morning!

No special care is required, except for a brief touch-up once a year. The experience will cost you anywhere between $375 and $800. But waking up every morning with perfect brows may be totally worth it!

  1. Ok so this may be a stupid question, but does the hair around the brows still grow after the microneedling session? Or will you need to tweeze/wax away the excess hair growth? Thank you!

    1. Hi, no not a stupid question at all. I get asked this all the time. Typically I will clean up my clients eyebrows if needed before the treatment is started. After Microblading, your brow hair will grow as normal. It will not change your regular brow hair growth. :-)

  2. How do you sanitize between sessions/clients? I'm curious what sanitary procedures I should inquire about before selecting someone to do the microblading.
