The Exfoliating Body Lotion that gives you Summer Skin All Winter Long

Glowing Skin
It's officially fall.  And although I haven't technically noticed a change in weather yet, I'm already making plans for what's ahead.  Last year, fall and winter were horrible for my skin.  Sure, I complain about the humidity all year, but once it's gone, I miss it dearly.

The drier air wreaks havoc on my skin.  It's itchy, flaky and very uncomfortable.  Thank goodness  I discovered the power of humidifiers.  But this year, I want to take it a step further.  I'm including a new product in my regimen that seems like the perfect solution to combat dry winter skin.
This wonder product is a body lotion.  But not your typical, run of the mill stuff, that only coats the skin.  No, I need a lotion that works hard for me.  Especially with the harsher conditions that lay ahead.

I can't wait to get my hands on Amlactin lotion.  It's formula is enhanced with lactic acid, a chemical exfoliator that promises to give you smooth, glowing skin.  But lactic acid (LA) doesn't only exfoliate, according to the creators of Amlactin, LA is also a humectant which draws moisture into the skin, helping it to stay softer, longer.  In essence, it exfoliates and moisturizes at once.  Nothing is better than this.

Some of the reviewers online boasted of experiencing a difference in skin texture and increased softness.  Others rely on Amlactin to help eliminate keratosis (chicken skin) per their dermatologist's recommendation.  One happy camper said that Amlactic was a "turning point for her skin."  I'm really optimistic about the possibility of avoiding scaly skin this winter.  And, of course, I'll be mindful of protecting my skin against sun exposure by applying sunscreen to the areas where I use Amlactin.

Last year, I brought up the topic of exfoliating lotions that feature glycolic acid as the active ingredient but I never took the plunge.  In the back of my mind, I was worried that the acids might irritate my already dry skin.  But, according to Amlactin, lactic acid will help my skin to hold water which is exactly what I'm looking for.  We shed dead skin at a slower rate during the winter so using an exfoliating lotion makes perfect sense. But we don't want just any exfoliating lotion, we want one that also nourishes and hydrates as well.  Amlactin might just be the answer.

  2. I've been using amlactin for years, per my dermatologist suggestion. You will definitely notice a difference in your skin texture and there's no comparison to other lotions. During the winter months, though, I do need extra coverage so I layer of the cream on top of the amlactin but I definitely noticed a reduction in my Eczema breakouts and my face is not nearly as dry as it used to be during the winter months.

  3. LOVE ❤️ Amlactin! I started using the hydrating body cream version last winter. I use it year round. I add my smell good lotion or creams on top. Perfect combo. I need to replenish.

  4. I love using Amlactin in the winter. :) I just bought some Aveeno, but after I use it up (which will probably happen quickly in this weather) I will switch back to it.

(It makes your skin more sensitive to the sun, so you must remember to use sunscreen. And I only like to use it in the fall/winter months for that reason.)
