Straight from Eden| Creme of Nature's new plant based product line

Healthy Hair

We have a lot to look forward to in the year ahead.  One of them is the release of the newest hair care line from Creme of Nature.  It's known as the Straight From Eden line featuring plant derived ingredients such as coconut, avocado and olive oils in their shampoos/conditioners and relaxing system.

The good folks at Creme of Nature were gracious enough to send me the collection so I can give you all a sneak peak of what's ahead.

{Conditioning Treatment} A rejuvanating & fortifying formula created to strengthen and protect the hair from damage and dehydration.  Doesn't contain mineral oil. A

{Detangling Leave In} Improves manegeablilty of your hair using the goodness of nature's garden.  The leave-in is a protective formula created to condition, nourish and shield hair from damage.

{HYDRATING SHAMPOO}  Sulfate free hydrating formula created to replenish moisture.  Contains avocado, coconut and olive oils.

{REPAIRING OIL} A powerful restorative formula create to reclaim strength and give a brilliant natural shine to all hair types.  This weightless nourishing natural fusion of oils uses coconut oil to add hydration and incredible softness while strengthening for beautifully healthy hair.

That's just the tip of the iceberg.  They also created a proprietary no lye relaxer formula that incorporates the power of coconut to restore strength and protect hair from damage, avocado to fortify hair and promote overall hair healthiness, and olive oil to lubricate the strands preserving moisture.

There are two relaxer formulas.  Hair Type A for fine, wavy or delicate hair and Hair Type B  for normal to thick hair.  According to the info sent to me, the natural oils added to the relaxer formula are "alive and present" at the point when one adds the activator to the relaxer.  They say that "this is the moment when the true benefits of the coconut, avocado & olive oils penetrate the cuticle of the hair shaft for maximum impact."

Sounds pretty exciting. These just came in so I haven't had a chance to test drive yet.  I did perform the costumary "remove the cap to see what it smells like" experiment. The scent seemed very familiar to me.  It reminded me somewhat of a milder version of coconut lime scented lotion.  Just so happens that I love coconut lime so I'm pretty excited.

*Edited to add: The new relaxer system does contain plant based ingredients for a healthier process but isn't chemical free. *

  1. Nadege dont be sucked in. We all know about that "no lye, plant based healthy hair relaxer" Back in the day, the same marketing tool balded a number of women. Maybe not overnight but over time anything that breaks the bonds of the natural hair is damaging. You know how we feel about our hair. It would be a relatively mild winter in Hades before I use that S&*) on my finally healthy curly locks

  2. I wouldn't trust this line either. There are probably more chemicals than ever hidden in it. :/

  3. I'm curious to know what "100 % natural derived" means. Does it mean that there are no Chemicals at all? Looking forward to see your Review of the relaxer. Sounds too good to be true. Never thought there would come a relaxer without Chemicals.

  4. The new relaxer system does contains plant derived ingredients but it is not chemical free. The plant derived ingredients help protect the hair during the chemical processing.

  6. If you are so against relaxer why even click on a post about "relaxers?" Geesh!! Anyway...I just used this on my healthy, bsl hair and I lovvve it! It doesn't have that "chemical" smell and it did not even tingle much less irritate or burn my scalp.

  7. this relaxer was one of the best I've ever used. I relax my hair after 6 months of stretching, took it to my stylist and it didn't burn at all. I did run out of product because I had so much new growth. So my scalp burned where my stylist applied the regular relaxer she uses. But my hair came out soft like when you use ORS the first time and it didn't have a chemical smell.

  8. Well, reading the ingredients of each of the components, I clearly see that the the 'creme booster' contains calcium hydroxide along with alot of other unpronounceable ingredients. So, no ladies, this Relaxer does not come without harsh chemicals.

  9. Of course it'll still have chemicals in it. It's a relaxer. However, there are three penetrating oils (coconut, avocado, and olive oil) that help combat the harmful effects of the chemicals. I can't wait to try it. I've heard nothing but positive reviews so far.

  10. I've been relaxing my hair for years. This relaxer has produced the best results I have seen. It's been a month since I have used this product and I have been to a water park for a couple of days and washed my hair at least 3 times. My hair is still very soft and it feels healthy.

  12. we all know about the cons and pros of chemicals, but this is relaxer blog just stay away if you don't approve, I haven't had a relaxer since december, I tried this 2 weeks ago and I love it! I have sebborheic dermatitis that flares up at different times a year and 4c hair, it was good on the scalp and straightened my hair well and I have very thick hair. I love the smell, the consistency, and the shampoo and conditioner was amazing, if you don't like no lye relaxers just wash your hair with a chelating shampoo. it worked well for me, my hair is nice and flowing and no dryness so far at all

I used it for the first time Wednesday and the next day (Thursday)it Had my head itching and it is itching even more today (sunday).. I love it but think im have to stick with my regular relaxer because there is something in it that is making my head itch like crazy.

  15. This is absolutely, positively the worst relaxer I have ever had in my entire life! I did nothing to my hair except make it smell god. Now I have to go out and buy real relaxer that will actually do something to my hair. I hated this product with a passion! complete waste of my time.

  16. I have always used cream of nature products (regular strength). I tried the straight from eden hair relaxer for type B hair and it was fantastic!. Not only was my hair exceptionally soft, but it had a healthy shine like never before after using a relaxer.Although I have tried the kind for type A hair. the Type B relaxer works best for my hair. And No it didn't burn. I have a short hair cut and while my hair is thick it is not extremely course. So in my opinion it just depends on your hair type and which one of the products works best for u

  17. I tried Straight from Eden relaxer type B for the first time 2 months ago. It didn't damage my hair as usual relaxers
However I wasn't that impressed with the results.
I had made a basic mistake: I had lots of growth and one kit was just not enough.
I had my hair relaxed with this product for the second time last weekend. My hair stylist was amazed by the quality of my hair. It looked healthier and less dry than usual. After my 2nd Straight from Eden relaxer, I can now say this is the best relaxer have tried. My hair is smooth, light and soft. It almost feels like the texture of my hair has slightly changed (I also must confess that I have started my hair journey 2 months ago)

  18. This is my first time ever responding on a blog, but after using this product a month ago I just had to let the public know. This is the Best perm I have ever used! I have naturally thick, dry and extremely course hair. (I'm talking Don King course!) each time I have permed my hair with other products my hair becomes thin and sheds A lot! Perms have damaged my hair so, much that I always revert back to wearing weaves which arel also terrible for your hair. Normally I would need to perm my hair every 4 weeks due to the texture (Naps!) After using Straight from Eden a little over a month ago I must saw today my hair is straight and healthy not, just straight like an average perm, but straight and thick! For some reason the perm feels like a gummy mud mask when you are applying it, but once you wash it out your hair feels straight yet still strong and healthy.... And after a month my hair is still straight, I went to a highend stylist for a cut and even the stylist who charges 200+ for perms asked me what type of perm was on my hair and that it really felt nice. So, to all the na sayers this perm is amazing! :)

I first tried this relaxer a month ago,May 1,2015 to be exact. I had not been relaxed in approximatley 6 months, and was very excited to try this product. However I am disappointed with the outcome, It felt real thick and gritty, and was very difficult to rinse out of my hair, and I wash with the neutalizer several times. That night while I slept, my scalp was itching constantly, and about 3 weeks afterwards, I began to notice lots of my hair shedding, I mean I would literally comb my hair and long strands were coming out. I washed my hair again with the neutralizer and let it sit while I showered, and then applied an Ahphogee(this might be miss spelled) treatment for chemical and heat damage to my hair for about 15 minutes. It seemed to stop the shedding, but now it seems to be starting again. I've tried protein, deep conditioning, moisturizing, protective styles without applying any heat to my hair, except for sitting under the hair dryer, but it keeps shedding. Please help, somebody, before I loose all of my hair, oh and yes my edges seem to appear thinner now.

  20. I tried this relaxer today after reading good reviews but unfortunately I didn't get the same results as I was hoping. I haven't relaxed my hair for 3-4 months before trying this product. I followed all of the directions and even surpassed the 18 minute time limit (not on purpose) and washed it at 25 minutes. Even with the extra time this relaxer did absolutely nothing to my hair, my roots are still very kinky and curly. I used the type B relaxer and got very poor results. Don't think I'll be using it again, only pro is that the products smell good and apparently are very gentle
