Wheatgrass Juice Powder is Kind of Amazing...and I'm Not Kidding.

Nutrition

Once upon a time, I would make a weekly trip to Whole Foods for a bag of fresh cut wheatgrass.  While there, I would often stop by the little juice stand in the middle of the store and pay a few dollars for a shot of freshly juiced grass.  Although it was costly, I was committed to my weekly wheatgrass ritual because, after learning of the wonders of wheatgrass juice, I needed to experience it for myself.

It's been years since I've tasted nutrient-rich elixir of juiced grass.  Although I loved the benefits, I didn't want to scrape pulp out of a juicer every morning nor did I want to take out a second mortgage to sustain my Whole Foods spending habit.

Then one day, I was introduced to my new bestie, Wheat Grass Juice Powder, and everything changed.

I have a bottle of wheatgrass supplement tablets sitting around somewhere.  It's nice to have wheatgrass powder in a convenient pill but, make no mistake, those wheatgrass supplements are a joke.  They offered (me) no noticeable benefits but I took them in hopes that my body would do its best with what it was given. Since taking supplements seemed to be getting me nowhere, I decided to step up to the next level and transition to wheatgrass powder.

Wheatgrass Powder vs. Wheatgrass Juice Powder

Wheatgrass juice powder, ladies and gentlemen is NOT the same as wheatgrass powder.  There is a difference.  Wheatgrass powder is made from the blade of grass without the juice extracted. This means that wheatgrass powder also contains fiber from the actual plant.  This isn't necessarily a bad thing if one of your focuses is to increase your daily fiber intake.  But we don't drink wheatgrass for the fiber.  We drink it for direct access to its nutrient-rich juices.

Wheatgrass juice powder is exactly what it says...it's the juice of the wheatgrass dried and converted into powder form with none of that extra stuff.  I've heard that a teaspoon of wheatgrass juice powder (WGJP) is like 6 shots of fresh wheatgrass juice.  Another interesting tidbit is that a lot of commercial wheatgrass juice powders consist of wheatgrass that was actually grown in the ground (on nutrient-rich volcanic soil to be specific), not in trays like we typically see at the health food stores.  What does that mean?  It means that our grass has the ability to take up more nutrients directly from the earth so you have a more nutritious product.

The Benefits of Wheat Grass Juice Powder.

A couple of weeks ago, I decided to add wheatgrass juice (powder) into my routine.  Best decision I've made in a while. The benefits I experienced were almost immediate.  Within a day or so, I noticed an improvement in energy.  Typically, by evening, I'm spent. I usually dedicated the last couple hours of my waking day vegetating on the couch before eventually heading off to bed.  After taking WGJP, I seemed to have this sustained energy that allowed me to finish off a physical few tasks before going to sleep.  Best of all, I had no trouble dozing off once I got into bed.  Wheatgrass juice powder allowed me to extend my workday which (for an entrepreneur) is priceless.  I also felt more mentally clear during the workday as well.

After a couple days, I noticed an additional benefit.  It seemed as though I suddenly experienced fewer cravings throughout the day.  Oftentimes I don't have time to sit and eat a meal until late afternoon.  I compensate by snacking throughout the day.  It's a habit that I'm not proud of. I keep saying that I want to snack less but when the cravings hit, I can't resist.  Well, I'm proud to say that my beloved wheatgrass juice powder has reduced my random cravings dramatically.  Hunger and cravings are two different things.  When I'm hungry, I eat. But more often than not, my eating is being led purely by cravings. It seems like wheatgrass juice powder has balanced my appetite in a healthier way.

The powder is fine and dissolves easily in water. It has a mild, slightly sweet & grassy taste that I actually like.  I don't have to blend the powder with fruits to mask the taste.  It's perfect just the way it is.   One thing that I LOVE about WGJP powder is how I don't get a queazy,  nauseating feeling like when I drank fresh wheatgrass juice on an empty stomach.

When drank wheatgrass shots, one of the benefits I noticed was that a lot of my greys were reverting to black.  I don't know if wheatgrass juice powder can create the same result but I would like to see it.

There are a ton of other potential benefits like improved immunity (cold & flu season is around the corner), lowered inflammation, and (of course) nutritional benefits.  The powder is a deep green color (almost black) which means that it's rich in chlorophyll and trace minerals.  You all know how much we love chlorophyll around here.  Thanks to this wheatgrass juice powder, I feel like I'm back on the right path. Feels good knowing  I'm only a couple of steps away from enjoying the amazing benefits with each delicious glass.
