Do the DEW! Glossier helps highlight your skin in the most natural way ever

Beauty
I'm on a mission to create the most flawless natural face possible.  First on the agenda compiling a series of products that enhance our natural beauty.  Touche Eclat is one such product.  This morning, I purchased the perfect compliment to Touche Eclat.

Recently, Kim Kardashian announced that she's over the whole contouring thing.  You may recall that she pretty much launched the contouring craze a few years back after releasing an image of her heavily contoured, non-blended face.  The internet went ablaze.  Instagram makeup artists ran with it, as I sat motionless with my fingers laced together, waiting for the trend to subside.

I suspect that it won't be much longer before the natural face is revered once again.  And when that happens, we shall be ready.
If we can master the dewy "no makeup" look, we can do anything.  Sure, most of us probably have some type of highlighter already in our possession.  But do anything of them give your skin both shimmer and dew?  Probably not.  If you're like me, you relied mainly on powder based highlighters. They work pretty well when you're rocking a more dramatic makeup look. But what about those times where you want to showcase your beautifully bare face?

The skin gurus over at Glossier are a friend to those who prefer to rock their natural beauty.  They've recently launched a product that mimics the effect of a healthy, dewy glow.  When I first heard of Haloscope, I immediately wanted it!  They boast of having a "dual delivery formula infused with genuine crystal extracts and a solid oil core of vitamin-rich moisturizers for a hydrated, dewy finish."

Sounds amazing, right?   But I have a new rule that before I make a purchase, I must first check to see if I already have something similar in my possession.

Turns out that I do!  I've had this item for years and it's well beyond its expiration.  But it gives me a glimpse of how wonderful Haloscope can be.  My "dupe" was intended to be a shimmery lip gloss. But none the less, I liked the end result after testing a little bit on my cheekbone.

Something about the combination of shimmer and oil, in just the right places, makes it appear so incredibly natural and wholesome on the skin.

Unlike with powder, there's little chance of error.  Powder based shimmers can sometimes produce too much of a contrast against the skin creating an unnatural result. Sometimes, if I'm not careful, I'll grab just a bit too much highlighting powder with my brush and end up looking like the tin man.

But the dewy highlighter stands against that!  The combination of shimmer and oil helps it melt into the skin.....causing the two to become one.

I suspect that applying Haloscope dewy highlighter will be an everyday occurrence in the winter time.  First I'll mist with "dewy skin in a bottle" then highlight with Haloscope to perfect the ultimate dewy face.

I'll share more thoughts on Haloscope once I've had a chance to finally try it.

  1. The product looks amazing, I had to think about too after I starting looking on their website if I had something similar as well and I do. I actually have two stick highlighters I bought some time ago. But ever since the warmer weather, I've been applying my becca powder highlighter with a damp beauty sponge and it leaves a nice blended glow, you don't need to use a lot. You should give it a try and see how it looks :)
