Try This // Sir John's Simple Tip for Dewy, Natural Foundation

Makeup
I absolutely love learning new skin tips that I can apply right away and see results without having to run out and buy new products.  Last week I learned of a simple technique that instantly made my skin look healthier and more radiant.  This tip is so good that I've pretty much applied it every day since.

Before I reveal this dewy skin tip, I want to preface by saying that I learned of this method from an article featuring Sir John.  If that name doesn't ring a bell, let me remind you that Sir John is Beyonce's makeup artist.  We've featured some of Sir John's tips here in the past.  I love his practical approach to makeup.  He's all about creating wearable, timeless looks.  Whenever Sir John shares a tip for a flawless face, I'm all ears.
Talk about perfect timing.....This time of year, it's a bit of a challenge to create the look of dewy, hydrated skin.  Luckily, the answer to this dilemma was simple.  All I had to do was to tweak one small step in my makeup routine.

Typically, I apply my serums/moisturizers then wait for all the product to be fully absorbed into my skin before applying foundation.  But, after learning of Sir John's trick, I began to apply foundation while my skin was still damp from my moisturizer.

This created a very moist, natural finish that enhanced the look of my skin.  As both products dried down, they seemed to become one with my skin creating a really nice, natural finish. This process creates a similar result to applying foundation with a damp beauty blender but takes out the extra step.  If you typically don't have a lot of time to apply makeup, this little hack saves time while enhancing your results.  If your skin is really dry, be sure to use a really hydrating moisturizer.  Lately, I've been layering on Hada Labo's hyaluronic essence and milky lotion.  Both products join together to create an ultra-hydrated finish that creates the perfect base for your favorite foundation.

Seriously, ever since I've learned of this simple hack of applying foundation on damp skin, I've executed it every day.  Dry, winter skin no longer has me bothered.

Wait, it gets better.  This morning I picked up yet another hydration tip from Sir John that I just tried out moments ago.  I'll be testing out this suggestion all week and will write a follow-up article if it's legit.

Spoiler alert......so far, it seems legit.

Stay tuned.
