Ashley Weatherford Reveals Her Flawless Skin Tips

Skin Care
I'm a huge fan of beauty editor Ashley Weatherford.  She and I are kindred spirits when it comes to the love of beauty and skin perfection.  I've featured her insights previously here and here.  So you can imagine my surprise when I was tagged last night by @jennay.jenean who informed me that Ashley would be hosting a beauty Q&A  session on Instagram.
I reflected for a few minutes on what questions I would ask.  At first, my mind drew a blank.  Then I collected my thoughts and decided to ask her bottom line questions about the best product and best skin care treatment that she's ever experienced.

Q: Whats product(s) made the most difference to your skin?
A: "Acids, without a doubt.  My skin is tough so it can take a lot.  I use some sort of chemical exfoliant (low percentage) daily.  Like Cane and Austin miracle pads or Pixi Beauty Glow Tonic.  Also, love Paula's Choice skin perfecting liquid.

Q: Your favorite professional facial treatment and why?
A:  "The Hydrafacial!  I want to crawl up and live in one of those machines."

I decided not to be greedy and limit my questions to only 2.  Through her answers, Ashley gave me even more reassurance that exfoliating every day is the absolute truth!  It seems to be the common denominator with all flawless skin individuals.   This Glow Tonic keeps popping up on my radar.  Jourdan Dunn was the first person to put me on to it.  But ever since then, I've seen Glow Tonic appear in the beauty arsenal of several skin care enthusiasts.  Since I already have DIY facial pads, I can make my own exfoliating pads at home.

Mental note......schedule a Hydrafacial treatment.  My first experience was pretty amazing. Why am I waiting so long to do this again?

Ashley also revealed how she relies on her humidifier to naturally rehydrate her skin while she sleeps.  I picked up my first humidifier over the winter and noticed an immediate difference. This year, I need to grab a bigger version so I can do some serious overnight hydration.

Another gem that Ashley provided was a reveal of her favorite sunscreen.  According to her, Cover FX's Clear Cover sunscreen goes on completely clear and feels "light as air" on the skin.  I'd love to get my hands on this one.  Ashley also raved about Glossier's Milk Jelly cleanser.  She boasted about how it cleansed without drying her skin while providing a pleasant sensory experience (smells like rose).   This cleanser was so good that she couldn't stop talking about it.

Be sure to check out the full Q&A session here.

  1. You're so right, when I started using good exfoliating products it made a huge difference! I'm yet to try Pixi Glow Tonic but I've heard so many good things.

  3. Once you start regularly chemically exfoliating, you will never go back. Its so much more effective than manual exfoliation. Will look into that coverfx sunscreen. Have you tried it? Maybe a future blogpost about it vs. the murad instablur?

  4. I"m super late to the game. But OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG!!!! I’m so glad I came across this post. I ordered the Pixi toner and used it for the first time last night. GAME. CHANGER. I have oily skin with large pores. I started using witch hazel as a toner a few years ago which kept breakouts away at about 90%. I still wanted perfection with my scarring and large pores gone so I started looking for something better. When I used the Pixi toner last night it looked like I had taken the cotton pad and wiped the ground with it. I had no idea the witch hazel was leaving all of that crap behind!! My skin looks and feels so much better in just a day. Glycolic acid is the TRUTH. I’m so mad I waited so late to try it. Thank you for sharing!
